Silkcult is a fashion project inspired by cradle-to-cradle design. Started in 2019 by Natalia Miklosovic. This project aims for repurposing silk fabrics collected from various luxury brands and designers into elegant accessories.
The philosophy of the closed-loop design cycle is to make products that at the end of their life can be truly recycled. By imitating nature's cycle, everything is either recycled or returned to the earth.
Silk is a very exclusive material. Only 1% of all fabrics worldwide contain silk fibers. The manufacturing process harms animals. Silk fibers are traditionally obtained by boiling the silk moths alive to extract the proteins from their cocoon. To cause no more harm, we source materials exclusively from fashion production waste. Our natural dyes are obtained from local florists, gardens, and restaurants.
